New Community Defibrillator Installed at Sandford Way, Dunchurch

A new publicly accessible defibrillator and bleed control kit has been installed at Sandford Way, Dunchurch. Provided by the OurJay Foundation and supported by a local family, it offers vital emergency access and honours the memory of a much-loved community member, Jean.

Published: 2 February 2026

The defibrillator, registered as OurJay number 326, is located on Sandford Way next to the rear entrance of Dunchurch Infant School and is available 24/7, allowing quick access for emergencies in the surrounding area.

This installation was inspired by Jean, a well-loved member of the Dunchurch community. Her husband, Graham, and daughters, Julie and Jo, worked with the OurJay Foundation to raise funds and choose a suitable location, creating a lasting tribute to her memory.

As the family said:
“There is no better way to mark the first anniversary of losing our wonderful Mum/Wife than installing a defibrillator for the Dunchurch school and Sandford Way community. We know she would be very proud, knowing it supports the local community she was part of for so many years.”

This defibrillator is part of a wider network of publicly accessible units in Dunchurch. Information on all local defibrillators can be found on the Parish Council website here, and up-to-date availability can also be checked via DefibFinder.

Thanks to the OurJay Foundation, Jean’s family, and everyone involved, Dunchurch is a little safer and better prepared for emergencies.
