Rugby is preparing to welcome back the Rugby Literary Festival from Friday 3 October to Sunday 5 October 2025, bringing a weekend of books, stories, and creativity to the town centre.

Organised by Rugby First, in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and local author Lindsay Woodward, the festival celebrates the written word with something for everyone to enjoy. This year’s theme is “The Lost Chapter.”

What’s On

The three-day programme includes:

  • Author talks & panels featuring writers such as Charlotte Ashman, Julie Caplin, Ben Crystal, Shelley Wilson, Donna Ashcroft and more.

  • Creative workshops covering writing, illustration, and self-publishing.

  • Performances & storytelling to bring books to life.

  • Family Day (Sunday 5 October) with crafts, a Story Trail, giveaways, and mostly free activities for children and families.

Many events are free, though some require booking in advance to guarantee a place.
