Parents and carers are invited to a free expert led webinar to help families support young drivers during the learner period and beyond. Hosted by the Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership, the online event takes place on Thursday 19 March 2026, 6pm–7pm.
Newly qualified drivers face the highest risk on the roads during their first year, particularly in the first 1,000 miles of independent driving. This one hour session brings together road safety specialists to share practical advice, tips and insights for parents and carers.
The webinar will cover how everyday conversations, setting clear expectations and parental behaviour can reduce risk and promote safer driving. Attendees will also get guidance on working effectively with an Approved Driving Instructor and providing constructive support throughout the learning journey.
Cllr Jennifer Warren, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, highlights the crucial role parents play in shaping young drivers’ attitudes and behaviours, both during lessons and after passing their test.
The event is free and open to all parents, carers, and young people. Places are limited, so families are encouraged to secure their place as soon as possible.
