The Big Future: Have Your Say About the Future

Have your say in The Big Future
The Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, is asking children and young people across England to take part in The Big Future, a major survey exploring what it is like to grow up today.
The survey gives children and young people the chance to talk about the things they enjoy, the things that worry them and the changes they would like to see in their communities and in the wider world.
Questions cover topics including having fun and things to do locally, feeling safe in the community, online safety and hopes for the future. Children aged 12 and over are also asked about their worries and voting.
The Children’s Commissioner aims to hear from one million children and young people, particularly those whose voices are not always heard. The responses will help inform the work of government and decision-makers, with findings due to be published in 2027.
What could make our local area better?
The survey includes questions about children’s local areas, including what there is to do and what could make their area better. It is an opportunity for young people in Dunchurch to share their own views about what would make life better for children and young people in their community.
Whether it is more places to meet friends, activities and things to do, safer spaces, better access to facilities or something completely different, this is an opportunity for young people to have their say.
The survey takes around five minutes to complete and can be completed on a smartphone, tablet or computer. It is voluntary and children and young people can complete it themselves, with support from an adult if needed.
The survey closes at 11.59pm on Friday 23 October 2026.
