Unintentional Tree Removal – Parish Council Statement
Dunchurch Parish Council is deeply saddened to report that, due to an error by contractors, a second tree was mistakenly removed during recent works.
Published: 5 March 2025
While the removal of one tree had been planned for safety reasons, the additional felling was not authorised. The contractors have acknowledged their mistake and have taken full responsibility.
To put things right, they will be applying for the necessary planning permission from Rugby Borough Council and will replace the tree at no cost to the Parish Council. The new tree, carefully selected to suit the local environment, will be planted as a root-ball tree in October/November.
We understand how much our village’s trees and green spaces mean to residents, and we share in the disappointment this has caused. Please be assured that we remain committed to maintaining and enhancing Dunchurch’s natural environment.
