Lloyds Tour of Britain Cycling Event 2025 – Road Closures in Rugby, Dunchurch and Surrounding Villages

The Lloyds Tour of Britain Cycling Event 2025 will take place on Friday 5 September. Temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place across Warwickshire, including key routes through Rugby, Dunchurch and surrounding villages.

Warwickshire will be hosting the Lloyds Tour of Britain Cycling Event on Friday 5 September 2025. To ensure the safety of riders, spectators and road users, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place.

Roads in Rugby & Dunchurch

The following roads will be affected by both no parking/waiting restrictions and rolling closures:

  • Rugby – Rugby Western Relief Road, Coventry Road (Cawston), Alwyn Road

  • Dunchurch – Northampton Lane, Rugby Road, Southam Road

This means:

  • No parking, waiting or loading on these roads during the event.

  • Rolling closures when the cyclists pass through – roads will reopen once the race has gone by.

Rolling closures will also take place in:

  • Long Lawford – Bilton Lane, Coventry Road

  • Princethorpe – Leamington Road, Oxford Road

  • Church Lawford & Street Ashton – Rugby Road, Coventry Road

  • Wolston – Brandon Road, Coventry Road

  • Brinklow – The Crescent, Broad Street, Rugby Road, Fosse Way (also parking restrictions on The Crescent & Broad Street)

  • Bretford – Rugby Road, Lutterworth Road, Fosse Way

  • Marton / Birdingbury / Leamington Hastings – Birdingbury Road, Coventry Road, Leamington Hastings Road, Marton Road (also parking restrictions)

  • Wolvey – Withybrook Road, Coventry Road


What this means for you

  • Do not park on Rugby Western Relief Road, Coventry Road (Cawston), Alwyn Road (Rugby), Northampton Lane, Rugby Road, or Southam Road (Dunchurch & Toft) on Friday 5 September.

  • Expect short-term rolling closures as the cyclists pass – roads will reopen once the race has moved through.

  • Diversion routes will be in place and clearly signposted.

  • Access for emergency services will be maintained.
