Gary Sly

Gary was born and bred in Dunchurch, originally Adkinson Avenue and now lives with his wife Julie in one of the Gate Houses on the drive to Dunchurch Park Hotel off the Rugby Road. He has lived in the village for some over 60 years, played football and cricket for Dunchurch and was even head boy at Dunchurch school.

Gary has seen many changes in and around the village and watched it evolve and develop over the years.

Professionally Gary has been Finance Director and Company Secretary to a number of Companies, the last being Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey. Prior to that he was a Director of a Hotel Group for a number of years operating out of London, Windsor, Derby and Exeter.

Gary owned and ran the Grosvenor Hotel in Rugby for 11 years from 1999 and prior to that was part owner shareholder of the Blue Boar Group that operated motorway service areas including Watford Gap Service Area on the M1. Currently he does some part time work on a self-employed basis for a couple of clients and spends the rest of his time Walking in and around the village Fishing, Golfing  and working on the house, garden and woodland behind it.

Gary was one of the original trustees of Dunchurch Sports field and Village Hall and was involved in the building of the hall. He continued as a Trustee for a number of years after as the representative of the Football Club and also the Licensee.
